Mississagi River Canoe Trip

Enjoy a scenic, six-mile journey down the Mississagi River!

The Jacuzzi

Only three miles north of the Lodge on HWY 129, Snowshoe Creek offers a Natural Jacuzzi.

Pig Pen Chute

A Deep, narrow chute through which the Mississagi River must pass. Spectacular to see and only a five-minute walk from the road.

Grindstone Creek Trail

This 20-minute trail will take you to one of the most beautiful and secluded wonders in the area. The trail winds through a mature forest and culminates at the edge of a 100-foot cascading waterfall.

Rocky Candy Mountain

Climb the remains of an extinct volcano and experience a vista that encompasses all of the area lakes and lands.

Colony Trail

This gentle walk, starting adjacent to the lodge, takes you through an abandoned hydro colony, which was once the home of hundreds of men who constructed the great dams of the area.

Canoeing On The Mississagi River

Raynor Wells Hydro Dam

This large hydro dam contains the reservoir that we know as Tunnel Lake. A towering concrete structure, this impressive dam feeds its power into the Ontario power grid.

Aubrey Falls

Thirty miles north of The Outpost lies Aubrey Falls. The scenic drive up HWY 129 will get you in the mood to experience the grandeur of the falls. This well-known attraction features the roaring falls as well as a Trading Post and picnic spot. A 3/4-mile hike to the falls takes you through a forest that has now grown tall after being devastated by the worst fire in Ontario's history in 1948. A walk bridge let's you experience the entire effect of the falls.
